This past Thursday we participated with 10 other local boutiques in the Dress for DAIS fashion show downtown at the Overture Center! We look forward to this event every year. Not only do they do a wonderful show but the cause is a very important one. If you would like to learn more about their organization you can visit this link http://abuseintervention.org/.
This year we had eight models walking for our store in the show. We showed a variety of looks including casual, outerwear, dressy, and everything in between! Styling eight model’s outfits takes more planning and organization then you would think! Lucky for us we had a great group of women who all let their individual styles shine through in each outfit. Get an inside look at what the models do to prep for the catwalk below!
On the day of the the show the models arrived at the Overture Center at 4:30 pm to practice their walk and get their hair and makeup done. There is a lot of waiting while backstage so the models kill time snacking, chatting, snapping selfies and possibly having a drink to help with those pre-show jitters!
At 7:15 the models line up and start to make their way upstairs for the show. Models must remain almost silent because just a few rooms away the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra is practicing. There is a lot of giggling and “Shhh’s” heard throughout the hall as they wait to go through the doors to the main event.
Finally, all the waiting comes to an end and each model takes the stage and puts on their best runway face! Each model does their own unique pose at the end of the walkway while the photographer snaps away. Below are some shots from the show. We hope you enjoy!
